Job Summary: 

The Pharmacy Manager is responsible for planning, organizing,and directing the overall operation of Pharmacy Services; ensures compliance with patient care quality standards as it relates to the care provided to all age groups of patients ranging from newborns to the elderly; directs and controls the purchase and inventory maintenance of pharmaceuticals and related substances and supplies. Interprets physician prescriptions and medication orders. Acts as a drug information resource to patients, medical staff, nursing staff and ancillary department staff. Compounds and dispenses prescribed medications and other pharmaceuticals for patient care by performing the related duties.

Requirements: 

• Doctor of Pharmacy degree.

• Graduate from accredited School of Pharmacy.

• Currently licensed to practice pharmacy in North Dakota or eligible to reciprocate

• Two plus years hospital experience preferred 

• Managerial/Supervisory experience required

• All employees must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 or have applied for a religious or medical exemption prior to start date.

Responsibilities/Duties: 

1. Compound and dispense prescribed medications and other pharmaceuticals for patient care.

2. Act as a drug information resource to all patients and staff.

3. Interpret physician prescriptions and medication orders.

4. Monitor patient profiles to confirm accuracy, drug allergies, drug interactions, etc. are correct and being adhered to.

5. Ensure MCHS’ pharmaceutical program is fully compliant with all Federal, State, and Local regulations.

Applicants must be hard-working, dependable, and possess strong communication skills and computer literacy. Applicants must possess a Doctor of Pharmacy degree or Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent from an accredited School of Pharmacy. They also must have a current Pharmacist certification or licensure for the State of North Dakota, or work to transfer it to the State of North Dakota.

• Graduate of an ACPE accredited School of Pharmacy with a BS Pharmacy degree or higher

• Currently licensed to practice pharmacy in North Dakota or eligible to reciprocate

Wall’s Medicine Center is looking for a Compounding/Retail Pharmacist to join our team!

Pharmacists are responsible for compounding and dispensing the correct dosage of pharmaceuticals to customers. They’ll check prescriptions for a correct dosage and tell patients how and when to take their medication. 

A Pharmacist’s duties may include:

· Advise customers on the selection and usage of non-prescription medication

· Compound pharmaceutical products when necessary, including calculating and measuring correct quantities of    drugs and other ingredients to fulfill prescriptions

· Order and maintain stock of pharmaceutical supplies and medication

· Ensure pharmaceuticals, including vaccines, are properly packaged, distributed, prepared, and stored

· Supervise pharmacy technicians preparing and dispensing medications

· Organize the pharmacy in an efficient manner to make the identification of products easier and faster

· Maintain full control over delivering, stocking, and labeling medicine and other products and monitor their condition to prevent expiring or deterioration

· Listen carefully to customers to interpret their needs and offer information and advice

· Provide assistance other medical services such as injections, blood pressure/ temperature measurements etc.

· Prepare medicine when appropriate using correct dosages and material for each individual patient

· Keep abreast of advancements in medicine by attending conferences and seminars and collaborating with other healthcare professionals

· Comply with all applicable legal rules, regulations, and procedures
